Feinerman completed his undergraduate studies in physics and mathematics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he also earned a master’s degree in string theory. For his graduate studies, he moved to the Department of Physics of Complex Systems at the Weizmann Institute, focusing on experimental neuroscience. He then pursued a postdoctoral fellowship in immunology at the Sloan Kettering Cancer Research Center in New York City. In 2011, Feinerman established his own lab in the Department of Physics of Complex Systems at the Weizmann Institute, where he studies the collective behavior and cognition of ants. He recently published The Anteater’s Culinary Guide, a graphic novel that introduces children to the amazing world of ants.
