Gil Golan

Gil Golan served as the Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Global Research and Development at General Motors, as well as President of GM Ventures. In these roles, Golan was responsible for innovation, investment, and technology solutions in the development of GM vehicles. Prior to that, Golan served as Vice President of Technology Acceleration and Commercialization (TAC), where he led the team responsible for defining and implementing a comprehensive battery technology strategy to maintain GM’s leadership in this domain. He also played a key role in the spinoff of GM’s Fuel Cell business. Before that, Golan was Managing Director of the General Motors Technical Center in Israel. He established the Tech Center in 2008 and led teams focused on advanced technology development and product engineering to support GM’s key software/AI, autonomous, and connected vehicle programs. Golan earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, completed his tailored graduate business program at Stanford Graduate School of Business (sponsored by GM), and participated in executive education programs at Harvard Business School.
