Fahima Atawna, a proud resident of the Bedouin town of Hura in the Negev, exemplifies dedication and service to her community. She recently joined the Synergy7 team as the Vice President of Community Outreach and Resource Development. As the first CEO of the Siraj Association for the Advancement of Hi-Tech in Bedouin Society from 2019 to 2024, Atawna led transformative hi-tech initiatives, catalyzing innovation and opportunities. Prior to Siraj, she served four impactful years at AJEEC-NISPED in Be’er Sheva, where she managed programs on health and the environment, significantly contributing to outreach efforts in areas such as breast cancer awareness and first aid. Notably, Atawna is the second Bedouin woman to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), volunteering her weekends with the local rescue squad. Her career began with an eight-year tenure as an inspector at the Ministry of the Environment’s Department of Industrial and Business Licensing, where she was the sole Bedouin woman on her team, fostering collaboration between Jewish and Arab communities. Atawna holds a Master in Public Health from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, specializing in environmental health, and a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Management from Sapir College’s Department of Biotechnology. Atawna is a beacon of inspiration, dedicated to uplifting her community through education, health, and socioeconomic development. Her extensive experience and unwavering commitment make her a formidable force for positive change in the Negev and beyond.
