Esti Salomon is the CEO and founder of Atida, a pioneering non-profit organization that integrates ultra-Orthodox women into technological units within the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as civilian employees. Under her leadership, Atida has successfully placed over 400 women in prestigious technological units including Unit 8200, the Air Force’s Ofek Unit, the Communications Corps, and the Ground Forces Command. Currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Bar-Ilan University, Salomon’s doctoral research focuses on the phenomenon of Ultra-Orthodox women employed within the IDF. Her work examines the unique cultural dynamics and integration processes these women experience in military technological environments. Salomon holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social sciences from the Open University. She founded Atida in 2020 to address the distinctive challenges faced by ultra-Orthodox women in the workforce. At today’s technology conference, Salomon will discuss the critical role of bridging cultural gaps when integrating Ultra-Orthodox women into technological military units, sharing insights from both her academic research and practical experience leading Atida’s successful integration initiatives.
