Asaf served as the Commander of Unit 8200, Israel’s elite military technology unit, from April 2017 to February 2021. While leading the unit he focused on creating and integrating applied, cutting edge capabilities in two major fields: Cyber domain, as well as data driven analytics powered by A.I, Machine Learning and advanced computation. Asaf is a leading practitioner in state level cybersecurity, and holds a wide perspective on global cyber threats. During his tenure Asaf actively engaged in planning, coordinating and implementing national policy in cyberspace. Asaf holds an LLB from the Herzliya Interdisciplinary Center and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
