Dr. Yifat Turbiner is a seasoned intrapreneur with a proven track record in driving innovation and creating successful ventures. She has over 25 years of experience in entrepreneurship and innovation across the academic, high-tech, and governmental sectors. Currently, Dr. Turbiner is leading innovation initiatives and managing university relations for the Embassy of Israel in the United Arab Emirates. Dr. Turbiner has extensive experience and knowledge in developing collaborations between startups and multinational corporations, derived from her previous roles at Intel, IBM, and startup companies. Dr. Turbiner also held leadership positions in the government sector. These positions included serving as the Economic Advisor to the Minister of Economy of the State of Israel, Director of International Cooperation for Industrial R&D in the Office of the Chief Scientist (now the Israel Innovation Authority), and Head of the Economic Mission of the State of Israel to the Southwest of the US. Dr. Turbiner has held positions on the Board of Directors for various organizations, including the Israeli Investment Center, the Industrial Development Bank of Israel, and the Human Resources Development Fund of the Ministry of Economy and Industry. Additionally, she has served as a committee member for strategic planning for government support in research and development (R&D). In addition to her professional roles, Dr. Turbiner also serves as a researcher and lecturer at several academic institutions. Her research delved into the development process of innovation ecosystems and the value of informal gatherings such as hackathons and unconferences in enhancing innovation competence. Dr. Turbiner’s areas of expertise include entrepreneurship, innovation ecosystems, innovation policy, and open innovation. She is recognized as a change agent who constantly pushes the boundaries of what is possible.
